Lovelock Hostage Bridge
Opening in February 2024, the Lovelock Hostage Bridge was conceived by Marcel Knobil as a way that members of the public can continue to show their love and remember the hostages held in Gaza after 7 October.
The Lovelock Hostage Bridge was initially fitted with locks adorned with the names of the hostages, as well as a small number signed by their families. Since then thousands of members of the public from all over the world have add their own padlock, with messages of love and support.
News of the Lovelock Hostage Bridge has spread across the globe, with individuals mailing their own padlocks to be added to the bridge from a wide variety of countries.
The Lovelock Hostage Bridge shows us the importance of remembrance that is not political. In a time of grief and upheaval, people need a central point to come and remember and The Lovelock Hostage Bridge has served that purpose.
